The ride is not so bad even if you are driving from Haifa. The trick is to either leave early in the morning (5:30-6) to avoid traffic in the center of the country (Tel Aviv etc) or leave after 9:30. So now we can finally get an idea of the total travel time from Tel Aviv to Eilat including time spent getting to/from the airports, an estimated wait time of 2 hours at the airport for TSA security lines and waiting at the gate, and the actual flight itself.
