It also offers a minimum focusing distance of 7.9 in. / 0.2m at all focal lengths, and a maximum magnification of 0.38x (at 35mm), allowing you to open up a world of possibilities for creative expression. Canon offer two alternatives, the EF 85mm f/1.8 USM at £327 and the EF 85mm f/1.2L II USM at £1748. Looking at alternative lenses from all marques we can get an idea as to how these Canon lenses
I can't wait to see head-to-heads with this and the other 35mm f/1.4s on the market. This image quality looks REALLY good from these samples. It strongly reminds me of the Canon 35mm f/1.4L II USM. It doesn't seem to have as much vignette as the 35mm Art, which has been its worst attribute.

Highlights include Sub Wavelength Structure coating on lens Bokeh on the Canon 35mm f/1.4 L USM. Finally! Here's what I really love so much about this lens: the transition of sharp to blur, and the quality of the blur. First, just a quick note – If we're honest with ourselves, we can admit that all camera lenses produced in the past 20 years are capable of capturing good images.
This lens weighs more than a Canon 24-70/2.8L II. A lot more. 400g (0.88 lbs) more! 400g is about the weight of 2.5 billiard balls. So just imagine hanging 2.5 billiard balls from a 24-70/2.8L and that's how much the 40/1.4 weighs. And it's not as if the 24-70/2.8L II is a lightweight lens. Sigma 40/1.4: 1200 g (2.65 lb)
